How are NGOs in Delhi NCR integrating child care services with early education programs?

NGOs across Delhi NCR are increasingly combining child care services with early education programs to support both children and working families in underserved communities. Instead of treating childcare and learning as separate needs, many organisations run community-based centres where various education programmes for children are offered. Here young children receive supervision, nutrition, and age-appropriate learning activities in one safe space.

These integrated models often include play-based learning, storytelling, basic literacy and numeracy exposure, along with health monitoring and hygiene education. For parents working long hours, especially in migrant settlements or construction areas, such centres ensure children are safe while also building strong developmental foundations before entering formal school. Early education activities help improve school readiness by strengthening communication skills, social interaction, and confidence at a young age.

NGOs also engage parents through counselling sessions and awareness meetings, encouraging them to continue their child’s education beyond early years. By linking childcare with education, organisations reduce dropout risks, support mothers’ participation in the workforce, and create a holistic environment where children grow physically, emotionally, and academically. This integrated approach is becoming a key strategy for improving early childhood development outcomes across Delhi NCR.
